Description

O Frango em Cubos Rápido é a resposta! Seja para montar um lanche reforçado, complementar uma salada ou preparar aquele refogado coringa para a semana, essa é uma daquelas receitas que todo mundo precisa ter no caderninho.

Ingredients

500g chicken breast, cut into 2-3 cm cubes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, mashed
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (parsley and chives)
1/4 cup water or chicken broth (optional, for moistening)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken cubes with salt, black pepper, paprika, and oregano. Mix well to ensure all pieces are seasoned
  2. In a large skillet or deep pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until well hot
  3. Add the chicken cubes to the pan without overcrowding. If necessary, cook in batches to avoid cooling the pan. Sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and sealed, which helps retain the juices
  4. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, add a little more olive oil if needed, and sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 2 minutes
  5. Add the mashed garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until aromatic, being careful not to burn the garlic
  6. Return the chicken to the pan. If desired, add 1/4 cup of water or chicken broth to create a small sauce and deglaze the bottom of the pan, incorporating all the flavor. Cook for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked
  7. Turn off the heat and add the chopped fresh herbs (cheiro-verde). Mix well. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Do not overcrowd the chicken in the pan; cook in batches if necessary to ensure it browns, rather than steams.

Start with a very hot skillet to create a delicious crust and seal in the chicken’s juices.

Cut chicken cubes into similar sizes for even cooking. Overcooking will result in dry chicken.

Cook chicken just until it’s golden brown on the outside and opaque inside to keep it juicy.

Use fresh seasonings, especially fresh herbs (cheiro-verde), for the best flavor.
