Ingredients

2 large leaves Kale (without thick stem)
Juice of 0.5 lemon (freshly squeezed)
2 cm fresh Ginger (peeled)
200 ml filtered Water (or coconut water)
0.5 small Apple (optional)


Instructions

  1. Wash all ingredients thoroughly: First, wash the kale leaves, ginger, and apple (if using) under running water
  2. Prepare the kale: Tear the kale leaves into smaller pieces. Remove the thickest stem, as it can make the juice a bit bitter and fibrous
  3. Peel the ginger: Using a spoon or vegetable peeler, remove the skin from the piece of ginger. Chop it into smaller pieces to facilitate blending
  4. Cut the apple (if using): If you opt for the apple, wash it well and cut it into pieces, removing the seeds and core. There's no need to peel it, as the skin contains many fibers
  5. Add everything to the blender: Place the torn kale, chopped ginger, lemon juice, and apple (if using) into the blender
  6. Add water: Pour the filtered water (or coconut water) over the ingredients
  7. Blend until smooth: Blend everything on high speed for at least 1 to 2 minutes. Ensure the kale is completely pulverized and the juice is very homogeneous
  8. Strain (optional): If you prefer a juice without pulp, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag. The author, Emilia, prefers not to strain to benefit from all the fibers
  9. Serve immediately: Pour your Kale, Lemon, and Ginger Detox Juice into a glass and serve immediately to enjoy all the nutrients
