Description

A rich, fudgy brownie with crunchy walnuts, evoking childhood memories and perfect for any occasion. This easy recipe yields a moist center with a shiny crust and a perfect balance of chocolate and nutty flavor.


Ingredients

150 g Unsalted butter
1 and 1/2 cup Granulated sugar (approx. 300 g)
4 large Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
200 g Bittersweet chocolate (chopped)
3/4 cup All-purpose flour (approx. 95 g)
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 pinch Salt
1 cup Walnuts (coarsely chopped, approx. 120 g)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 20×30 cm (8×12 inch) rectangular pan with butter and dust with flour. Set aside
  2. In a large bowl, melt together butter and chopped chocolate. Use a microwave in 30-second bursts or a double boiler. Stir until smooth
  3. Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the batter is glossy and smooth
  5. Mix in vanilla extract
  6. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt over the chocolate mixture. Fold gently until just combined. Do not overmix
  7. Fold in walnuts until evenly distributed
  8. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be firm and the center slightly jiggly. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs
  10. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Serve with love

Notes

For a shiny crust, beat the sugar and eggs for about 2 minutes after adding each egg.

Do not overbake; the brownie continues to cook with residual heat.

For perfect clean cuts, use a knife dipped in hot water, wiped dry, and cut.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
